For those publishers who do not wish to integrate HexaLock Copy Protection within their source code or who use high level development environments, HexaLock offers an AutoLock Wizard. The AutoLock Wizard is used to automatically apply HexaLock CD-ROM Copy Protection onto program files without changing the source code. The AutoLock of program files is performed via the use of a dedicated copy protection software wizard. The AutoLock solution is very easy to implement and is particularly well suited for development environments such as Macromedia Director or Visual Basic.

The Copy Protection Components: 1.The publisher selects one or more program files from the Utility dropdown menu. 2.The replicator automatically arms these files thus creating a matrix of independent locks and adds a set of elements to the CD-ROM. 3.Multiple Program files can be locked. Operation of Original CD-ROM 1.An original CD-ROM will start normally via the programÕs install process. 2.Checking for the unique set of elements authenticates disc. 3.The program runs normally. Operation of Non-Original CD-ROM 1.The unique set of elements does not transfer to the CD-ROM during a standard coping operation. 2.The authentication test detects the missing element set. 3.The mines ÒexplodeÓ and do not allow the program to run. Developer may direct user to demo version, web site or some alternate scenario.

The HexaLock AutoLock Wizard is designed to operate without the need for programmer intervention. The publisher simply selects the program files to be protected from a dropdown menu. The Utility contains all the necessary tools for the developer to create a HexaLock Processed Gold Master to send to his authorized replicator. Released patches on the Internet can be easily encrypted as well.
